GlassGard was established in 1993 by Donna Baker, a life long resident of Brevard County.  We are located in the heart of historic downtown Melbourne.

In 1993, GlassGard became the first window film company in Brevard County to offer 3M window films.  Our commitment to customer satisfaction in harmony with quality craftsmanship has established GlassGard as this area's leading 3M window film dealer.

For years, GlassGard has specialized in state of the art passive safety, security and storm protection.  We also offer the finest 3M sun control film.  3M has recently introduced a new line of decorative and specialty films, Accentrim™ and Fasara™, which we are proud to offer.  These new films turn ordinary glass into extraordinary glass.

Whether your need is for a delicate residential application, a high profile military or commercial installation, or a tough, demanding industrial project, GlassGard and 3M window films are your logical choice.  GlassGard has proudly served thousands of Brevard County homeowners as well as some of the most established military and commercial organizations from Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando.

We're very proud to announce the opening of our completely renovated 3M Product Gallery! With great appreciation to GlassGard patrons, we have grown our organization and established our own Product Gallery. You are invited to tour our 3M home and see how our products will look, feel and function in your home!

Seeking Security
NATURAL DISASTERS, the likes of hurricane Hugo and Andrew, will happen again. Insurance companies have lobbied local governments and building officials have mandated changes to structures we live and work in -- changes to better protect our assets and our lives. We have tremendous resources that can predict and help us prepare for these events because we know they are approaching.

The Oklahoma City Federal Building, U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania , the Pentagon and the Twin Towers are sites of horrific man- made disasters. With out warning, no time to prepare, these events have inflected loss and human suffering greater than entire wars. With these images forever engraved in our history, it now becomes a question of not will this happen again... but when.

Natural or man-made, "Disaster Mitigation" is the key to reducing losses and saving lives. Our Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) has detailed programs and procedures to follow. There are dozens of related agencies such as our Project Impact to help assist in proper planning. As a member of Brevard County's Project Impact, GlassGard's mitigation skills are backed by the 3M Corporation and the International Window Film Association (IWFA). The IWFA works closely with the General Services Administration, a federal agency with the clout to approve products and systems to mitigate hazards, even product performance in blast conditions. Through the efforts of window film manufacturers, the IWFA, and the Protective Glazing Council, the need for window film has been recognized and is being installed in government facilities world wide. Since 1999 there has been an active campaign to laminate all the glass in our foreign embassies. Closer to home, GlassGard has serviced facilities on PAFB, numerous sites at Canaveral Air Force Station, and the INS building at Orland International Airport. 3M Scotchshield Ultra Safety & Security Film has also been installed at Reagan, O'Hare International, and MSP Airports.

Architecturally, massive facades of glass became standard on our commercial buildings. Retail shops were designed like fish bowls. We purchased our new homes because of the large palladium windows and the frameless glass openings. Glass has truly enhanced and influenced our lives. Yet for all is beauty and advantages, glass does have its downfalls. It is the most vulnerable exterior component of our building. From a security issue, it must be hardened; glass protection is your first line of defense against intruders. In serious cases, the broken glass under force can become a dangerous weapon. Flying shards of glass can be harmful, even become deadly projectiles. Your proactive planning and GlassGard can reduce your risk

GlassGard has been involved in the window film industry for nearly two decades. We have seen our products evolve and improve over the years, we have serviced requests for fade control, heat and glare reduction. We have installed film to deter smash and grab robberies and to protect from nature's fury. We have seen the focus go from property protection to personal protection. We are proud of our industry's aggressive testing methods and development of safety & security films. GlassGard is proud to serve this community.
